        Last weeks Teaching and Learning group meeting was focused on looking at the use of audio-visual resources in the classroom. The Japanese National Commission for UNESCO has translated the standard guidebook for the use of audiovisual material in Japanese elementary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools in Japan.

The guidebook discusses the significance of audiovisual teaching materials. It describes the roles and types of audiovisual aids and offers suggestions on their selection and use. Yet, there is also evidence of low utilization and non availability of audio-visual materials in schools.
